Le Verdon-sur-Mer.

On the south side of Verdon, near the big modern water tower is Gi 329 located. About 500m further south, down the road is a lonely bunker visible in the middle of the field.

The bunkers is about 500m away from the road, It is a personnel bunker the type 502. We haven't got pictures from a shorter distance because we were short of time.

Le Verdon-sur-Mer.

On the south side of Verdon, near the big modern water tower, are a couple bunkers located. First you'll pass a bunker on your left hand which is the bunker from Gi.339. A bit further down the road is the giant fuel bunker clearly visible.

The large fuel bunker contains 3 silo's to store the fuel. The bunker hasn't been finished completely, the silo's have been re-used by the French after the war to store water. The fuel was for the U-boats which came from Bordeaux and they had a final re-fuelling here before they went to the ocean. A nice detail is the pier were they moored, the pier still remains.
The whole complex was protected by several Flak emplacements, two times L409 and a L410. They provided the air-cover for this important location.

When you come from Soulac over the N215, drive straight to the water. After  you have passed the railroad tracks is the first bunker on the right hand side in the bushes. When you follow the bushes to the north you'll find another 10 bunkers of the same type.

This was a railway gun battery, there were two 28cm railway guns positioned at this battery. Today there is a line of ammunition bunkers, two emplacements for 2cm Flak guns and some other bunkers left. When you walk from the first bunker to the south, you will find the other bunkers, including a 119 command post and a personnel bunker that is now a foundation for a house.
Most of the bunkers are behind a fence and on private territory so they're closed or ask for permission..

South of Verdon, next to the water tower is a single bunker located next to the road.

The bunker, a Sk. Water bunker is open and the inside is still very clean and you can see the foundations for the machinery. The bunker lies really close to the fuel tank which are a couple of hundred meters away.
